Steve Russo is a native of Long Island, New York and currently resides in northern Nevada. Steve holds a Bachelor in Music Education from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Arts in Music from California State University. Steve was a freelance trumpet player in Sacramento for 22 years and in the San Francisco bay area for 12 years. Prior to his teaching career, Steve was member of the United States Air Force Band. As a freelance trumpet player, here are just a few group he's performed with; Grammy award winning Pacific Mambo Orchestra, Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Gregg Allman (Allman Brothers), The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Drifters, the Sacramento Jazz Orchestra.
Steve has taught music in public schools for 34 years and retired in 2021. He was also adjunct faculty at American River College, and Sacramento City College.
